What to expect

But let’s talk about the real highlight of the tour: priority access to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s iconic statue of David. Of course, this is the must-see attraction in Florence, but it’s not the only thing you’ll see on this tour. Your expert guide will show you the historical sites of Florence and take you to one of the city’s most prestigious galleries to see other masterpieces.
One of the best things about the tour is that it’s designed to optimize your time, ensuring you get the most out of your experience without waiting in long lines or dealing with crowds. And with a small group of just six people, walking around the city and through museums is quick and comfortable.
But what truly sets this tour apart is the passion and knowledge of the Florentine guides. Here, you will meet your Florence with Locals’ expert guide, who will take you on a journey through the medieval streets of Florence. These streets were once home to some of the world’s most renowned artists like Dante, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. Your guide will share stories of these artists and how their works changed the art world forever.
As you stroll through these historic streets, your guide will take you to Palazzo Vecchio, where you will admire a replica of Michelangelo’s David. This magnificent statue is just a taste of what’s to come later in your tour!
On this semi-private tour, your next stop will be at the center of Florence – Piazza della Repubblica. It’s a great spot to sit down, grab a coffee and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful city.
After this, you will head to the Cathedral of Florence, the Duomo. This iconic cathedral boasts detailed decorative faces in white, green, and red marble. If the crowds allow, you and your semi-private tour will enter the cathedral to view the marvelous interior and stunning frescos. No visit to the Duomo of Florence is complete without admiring the Baptistry, a small building in front of the main doors to the Duomo. Here, you will marvel at Michelangelo’s golden Gates of Paradise, a unique Renaissance masterpiece that tells the story of the Old Testament.
Finally, your tour will culminate at the gem of Renaissance sculpture – Michelangelo’s David.
